How this Printify to Etsy calculator works
This calculator estimates the remaining amount from a single print-on-demand order after the customer revenue, Printify production and shipping costs, and the fee assumptions entered here. It separates major fee categories so you can see which assumptions have the largest effect on your estimated margin.
A positive profit means the entered revenue exceeds the included costs. A negative result means the entered costs exceed the customer revenue. Neither result is a guaranteed payout from Etsy or Printify.
Understanding Etsy transaction and processing fees
Etsy’s published transaction fee is 6.5% of the order amount in the listing currency, including shipping and gift wrapping when charged. Payment processing is a separate fee with a percentage and fixed amount that depend on the seller’s bank country. Applicable sales tax can also affect processing calculations.
This calculator uses the transaction-fee percentage and processing assumptions you enter. Its simplified model applies the percentage fees to item price plus buyer-paid shipping. If taxes, gift wrap, refunds, fee taxes, or other order adjustments apply, your real fees can differ.

How Printify costs affect profit
For integrated sales channels such as Etsy, the customer pays through the marketplace. Printify separately charges the seller for product production and shipping. These costs therefore need to be included when estimating the amount left after a sale.
Production prices can differ by product, print provider, size, color, print area and selected options. Shipping can differ by destination, item and shipping profile. Enter the actual costs for the product variant and order you are estimating.

Offsite Ads and regulatory operating fees
Offsite Ads fees apply when an order is attributed to Etsy’s external advertising. Etsy publishes a 15% rate for shops below the relevant $10,000 USD sales threshold over 365 days and a 12% rate after reaching that threshold, with a $100 USD maximum fee per order. Your shop’s actual participation and fee eligibility may depend on Etsy’s rules.
The cap field in this calculator uses the currency selected in the inputs. The default value of 100 represents the USD cap only when the order currency is USD. If you choose another currency, supply an appropriate converted cap yourself. This tool does not fetch exchange rates.
Regulatory operating fees apply only in certain countries and at country-specific rates. Enter a rate only when it applies to your shop. See Etsy’s current fee guidance.
Important calculation limitations
- The model estimates one order and includes one listing fee. Additional quantities, renewals or relistings can create more listing fees.
- Currency selection changes formatting only. It does not convert values, fees or exchange rates.
- The default fixed listing fee is 0.20 in the selected currency. For a non-USD order, adjust it to the amount applicable to your account.
- Payment processing is approximated using the entered rate and fixed fee. Tax treatment and other account-specific charges may change the result.
- Offsite Ads are included only when a fee rate is selected. The cap amount must be entered in the selected order currency.
- Other costs can be entered manually, but this tool does not calculate income tax, VAT, customs, refunds, currency-conversion fees or deposit fees automatically.
- Printify production and shipping charges may have taxes or other adjustments. Include applicable additional costs in the inputs where appropriate.

What fees are included in the estimate?

Does Etsy charge a transaction fee on shipping?
Etsy’s published 6.5% transaction fee applies to the order amount, including shipping and gift wrapping where charged. This calculator includes buyer-paid shipping in its simplified transaction-fee base.
Are US and India payment processing rates the same?
No. Etsy publishes country-specific rates. The presets in this calculator use 3% plus $0.25 USD for the United States and 5% plus ₹25 INR for India. Confirm the applicable rate in your current Etsy account.
Does Printify take production costs directly from Etsy’s customer payment?
For integrated channels, Printify explains that the sales channel processes the customer’s payment and the seller separately pays Printify for production and shipping.
Does changing currency convert the amounts automatically?
No. The currency setting changes how values are displayed. It does not perform exchange-rate conversion. Enter all prices, costs and fixed fees in the same currency before calculating.
Can profit margin be negative?
Yes. A negative margin means the entered production costs and included fees exceed the revenue in this simplified calculation.
Is this an official Etsy or Printify payout calculator?
